2007 | OmniGlobe Networks acquires UK-based BTIG and its principal subsidiary L-TEQ Ltd., thus expanding its capabilities into the enterprise and government markets. With 25 years experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of satellite earth stations, transportable satellite terminals, and VSAT networks, the European headquarters has become the centre of expertise, operations, and sales into the Middle East and Africa. |
March 2008 | OmniGlobe Broadband is launched, Canada's first coast-to-coast rural Internet provider, with networks deployed or contracted to be deployed from Labrador and Nova Scotia to British Columbia. OmniGlobe Broadband's commitment is to offer affordable and reliable high speed Internet services to residents and businesses in remote communities that are currently unserved or under-served. |
July 2008 | Launch of Lynx Mobility, Canada's first nationwide cellular service provider that is co-owned by an Aboriginal company and dedicated to service small communities in remote and rural Canada. |
June 2009 | OmniGlobe continues to expand its operations and has headquarters in Montreal, Quebec, subsidiaries in Ontario and British Columbia as well as an international satellite communications division in the United Kingdom with more than 70 employees worldwide. June 2009 sees the acquistion of RAMtelecom Inc. , a Canadian-based satellite service provider specializing in broadband, data, and voice solutions for government agencies and the oil and gas, mining, and forestry sectors. |
