SCN
Who They Are
The Saskatchewan Communication Network, SCN, operates five satellite networks that provide such vital services as public broadcasting, business television, distance education and broadband Internet service to communities in remote and rural regions.
Our Relationship
Saskatchewan Communications Network (SCN) and OmniGlobe Networks signed a long-term strategic alliance to deliver a satellite-based wireless broadband Internet service capable of supporting video-conferencing, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and other e-solutions to communities globally. Through its two-way digital satellite network, SCN has expertise providing vital high-speed Internet service to many schools, health institutions and government offices throughout Canada. Under the terms of the three-year agreement, SCN will provide and maintain the satellite technical platform, while OGN will develop, provide and manage the terrestrial wireless platform, as well as actively market and distribute the satellite-wireless service to communities, governments and customers via their global market place.
With this new cost-effective broadband service over satellite and wireless, the first of its kind and scale in Canada, communities that are currently under-served, or where service providers are not competitive, will benefit greatly from access to high speed Internet and related services.
