Julian Costley (Non-executive Chairman)

Julian was appointed non-executive chairman of OmniGlobe in January 2006 to coincide with his investment in the company.

Wealth of Experience

He co-founded the all-internet stock broking firm, E*TRADE UK, with venture capitalist Hermann Hauser and together they effected a successful trade sale in 2000. Since then he's been an active private investor primarily in Telecoms companies, such as Inclarity PLC, Aurora Kendrick James and SatCap bv for whom he's acted in the capacity of Chairman or non-executive director. He is one of only 7 external directors brought into British Telecom to add entrepreneurial expertise to their venture division operational boards.

Natural Choice

His early career was with Reuters for whom his last role was on assignment as country manager and bureau chief for the Israel, West Bank and Gaza. On return to the UK he ran the TV production company, The Business Television Corporation, which led to his first start-up; his own channel on British Satellite Broadcasting (later BSkyB). His second start-up was the France Telecom owned satellite TV and data communications company, Maxat/Globecast. His third was E*TRADE UK where he was the founding CEO.

Personal

Julian is married with four children and divides his time between London and his home in Aix-en-Provence, France. He is a keen sailor, skier and tennis player.
