Nigel Maund (Vice President, Business Development)
Nigel manages the Business Development activities of OmniGlobe Networks Inc. During his career, he has been involved with radio, telecom systems, and software operational support systems for Internet and Telecom service providers.
Large Multinationals
He has held roles in manufacturing, systems engineering, proposal management, product management, sales and marketing. Business development roles included opportunities in North America, Caribbean, Latin American, Middle East and Africa. He has worked for large multinationals, Motorola and Nortel; as well as fulfilling key roles in successful Startup technology enterprises. At Nortel he received two President’s Excellence Awards, and managed definition of numerous complex multi-year contracts, exceeding $30M US.
Professional Engineer
Nigel was a key member of Solect Technology Group, a global leader in Internet billing solutions, which became the largest private software company acquisition in Canadian history ($1.1bn). Most recently he acted as a technology and business consultant to senior managers in startup enterprises for Telecom Wireless and Broadband Access solutions.
Personal
Nigel holds an Electrical Engineering degree from Carleton University, a Network Engineering Diploma (joint Nortel-University of Toronto), and an MBA from Schulich School of Business, specializing in International Business. He is a professional engineer, with the Order of Engineers of Quebec (OIQ). He is an advisory board member of the Montreal Chamber Music Festival, and part-time business lecturer at Concordia University.
